Testimonials

“Last summer we decided to get a tutor for our 7th grader to help him get off to a good start. After asking around without much luck, we were fortunate to hear about “At Home Academy”. After finding out our needs a tutor was assigned. He was a wonderful young man who was a perfect match for our needs. We have been more than pleased with the tutor’ evaluation and expert help, and highly recommend “At Home Academy” to help other students who struggle with school work or work at a higher level.”

“Super pumped on ACT scores for my triplets, My husband was bragging on the triplets’ ACT scores at work and now everyone at WK Bossier wants to take your class!”

Thank you! Jake took your prep class in January and increased his ACT composite by 3 points, making a perfect 36 in English. Your class has helped both of my boys tremendously. Josh’s composite score also increased 3 points after the first time with your program. Highly recommended.”

“I just wanted to thank you for setting the standards high in your class. Jordan made a 32 on his ACT test after completing your course. He enjoyed the challenge and it was definitely worth the time and effort. Thank you, again for providing such an A+ prep class.”

“Beth, thank you so much. Tutor A is a perfect match for Student A. She is patient, kind, smart, and very intuitive. She and Student A hit it off right away. Student A’s confidence is soaring. Her study skills overall have improved, and I believe it’s because Tutor A sets a high standard and is a great example of what hard work produces.”

“Thank you so much. I’ve been astonished at her progress. I see this as an investment that will generate scholarships and save me money down the road. So believe me, I am recommending your services to all of my friends.”

“Renee is fantastic!! She and my son connected immediately and he thinks the world of her! He likes that she can help him with all subjects and he’s learning so much from her. His grades are excellent, despite the rocky start at Youree -While his work load is ridiculous with all advanced classes, Renee helps him make a huge dent in it every session and I’ve noticed she really encourages him to not procrastinate on projects. She’s been a great influence on him! You did a great job on matching them up and we are so pleased! Thank you and yes, we want to renew!!”

“Thank you for caring about my child. You have no idea how much this touches me…Thank you for going above and beyond with communicating to the school on our behalf.”

“My daughter is applying to a few selective colleges and wanting scholarships. Knowing the best way to present herself on a college application seemed to be overwhelming to her. Having Beth and her team help navigate this process as been such a relief. They have helped her organize a college list of requirements and deadlines and guided her on maximizing her college essay and resume so that it is as unique and creative as possible.”

“Sam took the ACT prep class in May/June. He increased his ACT score by 6 points…yes 6…and he made a perfect 36 on English. Thank you At Home Tutoring and thank you Beth Woods for being a mom that just understands what these kids need. You get 10 stars in my book!!!”

“My son just got his ACT results and came up 3 points overall and 4 points in math. Thank you Beth for providing a tutoring program that targets learning in such a specific way that my son felt confident before the test, and accomplished after.”

“Beth, We made the score needed for LSU. I’m in tears. Thank you!”

Frequently Asked Questions

HOW DOES AT HOME ACADEMY WORK?

At Home Academy offers private tutoring and test prep, ACT prep classes, a natural abilities assessment, specialty services, and summer programming. All of our programming is customized to meet the needs of each student.

HOW DO I GET A TUTOR?

Call or email to schedule a free consultation. Consultations enable us to match a student with the tutor best suited to their needs. Tutors are ready to meet with your student within 24 hours of the initial consultation. Tutoring is typically twice a week, for one hour each session.

WHAT CAN I GET HELP WITH?

At Home Academy tutors specialize in a broad range of skills and subjects. We have tutors who tutor everything from kindergarten readiness skills to high school physics and college-level course work. After the free consultation, a student is matched with the tutor best suited to their needs.

WHAT'S THE MINIMUM TIME TO WORK WITH A TUTOR?

The minimum time to work with a tutor is two hours a week. Research has shown that at least two hours of tutoring are needed to show significant and steady progress.

After each session is completed, the tutor sends a detailed report of what was covered, so that all session content can be reviewed at any time.

CAN I WORK WITH THE SAME TUTOR AGAIN?

Yes. The student works with the same tutor throughout the sessions, unless the student/parent requests a change.

HOW CAN I BECOME A TUTOR?

At Home Academy is always looking for new tutors. If you have strong academics and a willingness to work with students, send a cover letter and resume to AtHomeAcad@gmail.com

DO WE TUTOR COLLEGE OR JUNIOR COLLEGE STUDENTS?

Yes. If you are just getting started, home for the holidays, or an older student returning to school, we can provide a tutor. One of our recent students was a 60-year-old returning student who needed help with an English essay.

WHAT ARE YOUR RATES?

Rates depend on the program you choose. Tutoring rates are based on the number of sessions. ACT Prep is priced by course. Natural Abilities Assessment is based on assessment and analysis.
